I dislike having to run a disk volume this large.Ĭorrect. Hoping some more exposure can get me to a solution quicker.
#Veeam backup office 365 how to#
I'm at a loss as how to proceed from here. I ran the Measure-VBOOrganizationFullBackupSize command I found here and it confirmed the data size to match what the Office 365 storage report says. It almost seems like some sort of antivirus/antimalware is manipulating the blocks in O365 making Veeam think it's seeing new data. So I'm asking if anyone has run into this issue. That didn't help either, it appears to have skipped compressing all of the files over 50MB. I enabled that on the original repository drive since it left all the files there after the move. Next I was asked if I could enable compression. The tech also asked me to enable Windows dedupe on the repository drive, but since it's using a Jet Blue db format, Windows Dedupe won't work with any file over 1TB. All that accomplished is I'm now using another 8TB of SAN space and did not save a GB of space, and couldn't back up for 5 days while it moved. So far they've had me move the data to a new repository. I have a ticket open with Veeam Support, but so far there hasn't been much done to help. There is no way my users are moving 20GB of mailbox data around between midnight an 8am. I run a back up every 8 hours and by the reports its pulling anywhere between 10-70GB from O365 in 'changes' in an 8 hour window. Yet it is still growing faster than it should. We don't have anything of note in OneDrive or SharePoint. To the tune of my repository is now at 7.2TB used but we still only have 2.1TB in O365. Looking at the Repository growth from the day we started migrating users in after testing, we saw an exponential explosion in repository usage.
#Veeam backup office 365 archive#
My Veeam Office365 retention is set to 3 years and I've excluded OneDrive & SharePoint from the job, we don't use the archive function either. Prior to the migration finishing back in August, we topped out at 2.2-2.3TB before some holdouts were kicked into the retention policy. The total data usage in Office 365 is 2.1TB. I have about 370 users, 485 mailboxes when you account for room/resource/shared. We've recently migrated our organization to Office 365 fully and are seeing a major discrepancy in the amount of data stored in O365 and what Veeam O365 is dumping into the repository.
